MORNINGS MADE SIMPLE

spiced waffles • warm and spiced gingerbread waffles, made fluffy and delicious with the addition of siggi’s yogurt, ideal for breakfast or brunch.

ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ tsp salt

2 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp baking soda

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1½ tsp ground ginger

½ tsp ground nutmeg

½ tsp ground cloves

1¾ cup siggi’s 0% vanilla filmjölk

3 tbsp butter, melted and cooled, plus more for serving

2 large eggs

1 tbsp molasses

3 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

maple syrup, for serving

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and spices.

In a medium bowl, whisk together filmjölk, butter, eggs, molasses, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.

Pour 1/2 cup batter into waffle maker in batches and cook according to manufacturer’s instructions. Serve warm with butter, and maple syrup or siggi’s skyr.
