Sales Director West – Grocery

We are looking to hire a motivated and ambitious professional with expertise in delivering the best in class retail sales, broker and distribution structure, and management. Develop and deliver short to medium term regional strategies in accordance with the company objectives. Delivery of the volume, revenue, and gross profit targets as agreed in the annual budget process.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Achieve annual budgeted sales and profit for the region
  • Build medium term region and account strategy in line with overall company objectives
  • Deliver annual sales, forecast, and promotional plans by account
  • Recommend changes to sales structure and route to market in conjunction with senior management
  • Identify and manage new business opportunities and new ways of working
  • Total responsibility for brokers, distributors, retail chains for region including but not limited to:
    • Broker scorecard reviews
    • Monthly ACV targets distribution
    • Monthly Distribution updates
    • Broker quarterly reviews
  • Cost Management
    • Trade spend budget
    • Margin calculator
    • Deduction control
    • Expense report management
    • Broker contract management
  • Annual region business plan
  • Minimum of 2-3 retail headquarter calls per chain per year
  • Market visits with Director/SVP Sales
  • Help organize and participate in 3 annual sales meetings and various trade
    shows
  • Participate in annual company meeting

Qualifications:

  • Must be based in Western U.S.
  • College degree and authorization to work in the U.S. is required
  • 7-10 years sales experience Grocery West chains (dairy/frozen experience a strong
    preference)
  • 5+ years of Broker management
  • 5+ years of Distributor management
  • 3+ years managing people
  • Demonstrable success of managing, influencing people. History in leading and
    becoming an integral part of team
  • Demonstrable success managing change and growth. Demonstrable ability to analyze
    numbers and create action plans.
  • Ability to break down Nielsen information
  • Formal analytic/sales training with a reputable company
  • Working category management knowledge is a plus
  • Expert presentation skills one-on-one and formalized group setting
  • Excellent skills in the following areas: listening, presentation, negotiation, analysis,
    customer service, selling, communication, organization
  • Proficient in MS Office

The ideal candidate should be detail oriented with strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills, possessing 2 – 3 years’ experience working in a Finance role.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with the Sales team to drive top line growth goals and manage spend budgets
  • Work with the Sales team to develop annual targets
  • Provide periodic financial updates to enable Sales team to achieve annual goals
  • Perform analysis of accounts and customers to improve business and drive growth
  • Analyze effectiveness and return on trade programs
  • Create financial models to assess trade spend investment opportunities

Qualifications:

Must have ability to manage multiple projects in the fast changing environment of a rapidly growing business. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills necessary. Experience working in CPG environment preferred.

Director of Customer and Category Development

This position will play a significant role in driving the future growth of siggi’s dairy through the analysis of Nielsen, SPINNS, IRI, Jet reports, pricing activity, promotional activity, and consumer loyalty behavior. The Director of Customer and Category Development will help guide strategic direction. The position works closely with the SVP of Sales, Sales Directors, and Regional Sales Managers. The CCD Director will create customer specific presentations/plan-a-gram solution generation, identifying trends, determining optimal pricing and promotional strategies while improving siggi’s/ customer profitability. The role is a large contributor to the Sales leadership team. The position also is an important strategic liaison between marketing and sales for better, faster, and more efficient execution of growth initiatives.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop strategic plans (pricing, merchandising, profitability and POS communication) through the analysis of Nielsen, SPINS, Jet, Industry trends, consumer behavior, and overall yogurt learning.
  • Measure pre-and post-promotional effectiveness (ROI) and develop optimum promotional strategies and share with managers on a regular basis.
  • Understand and execute the optimal siggi’s pricing strategy by pack /size and channel.
  • Analyze and report the siggi’s retail business to all departments.
  • Develop automated strategic retailer presentation templates for Sales team (i.e. analysis of data, building the retail story and identifying trends). Reporting and analyzing using Nielsen. The position will provide analytical information for category reviews and all key retailer sales opportunities. Sell in (separate of new SKU’s) the CCD services to help the retailer.
  • Help with the strategic development of Walmart and Target (through Retail Link) and partners online and support all key retailer strategies.
  • Provide expert Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, JDA, Spaceman, and Apollo support for the outside sales team. Expertly utilize JDA software for plan-a-gram generation, analysis and maintain space planning database. In-depth competitor analysis and attack action plans.
  • Create or enhance all category management processes and tools (i.e.; JDA software, ad tracker, customer profitability, pricing analysis, promotional effectiveness, Nielsen reviews, etc) to maximize siggi’s growth.
  • Liaison between marketing plans and sales execution.
  • Help achieve the total company sales budget and profit.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent; authorization to work in the U.S. is required
  • 8 +years analytic experience
  • 4+ years of Sales experience
  • Demonstrable success of managing and influencing people, and becoming an integral part of teams
  • Demonstrable success managing change and growth
